Students will begin by learning Bible verses and stories and progress to discussions in the younger grades. Upper grades will be using Answers In Genesis Curriculum. Our goal is to support parents as they train up their child in the way he should go by providing students with a solid Biblical foundation that reinforces lessons from home.
Courses are designed to aid students in effective communication through reading, writing, speaking, thinking, and presenting. Grammar, spelling, vocabulary, literature and writing are daily components of our LA courses.
Tutors and parents will guide initial instruction and students will show mastery through individual and group practice and activities. K-3 follows the Abeka math curriculum. 4-6th grade utilizes Saxon Math. Students in grades 3-6 will test into the appropriate level of math.
Our science courses aim to provide students with creative, hands-on learning in small group settings. Students will learn to discuss, create and test their hypothesis through experiments and discovery activities. Science will be provided one day a week 1-2pm to 3rd-6th graders. Third through fifth grade will be using The Good and The Beautiful Curriculum and sixth grade will be using Apologia Curriculum.
History will be provided one day a week from 1-2pm to 3rd-6th graders. Students in 3rd-5th grade will learn the history of the United States through engaging lessons, photos and illustrations, source documents, discussions, and hands-on projects and activities from Notgrass Curriculum. Students in 6th grade will be studying civics through the Notgrass Curriculum.
Students will have fun with learning new songs and motions during our music course. Students will also begin to learn about reading music on a basic level. Students will also enjoy fun crafts and projects that touch on different artistic techniques throughout the year. Music and art courses will be an hour each and provided from 1-2pm on Mondays and Wednesdays to 1st-2nd graders.
Elective courses vary each semester. Additional electives currently include an option between a kids coding class, a fun STEM class, an interactive music class and an engaging art class! These courses are available to all students on Fridays from 1-2pm but are sometimes only offered to specific grade levels depending on the semester. Students who do not participate are to be picked up by 1pm on Fridays.
